Tel Aviv, Israel’s second biggest city, is also its commercial Capital normally the city is buzzing around this time. But these days Tel Aviv has been silenced by sirens and explosions. It is a war zone Hamas has been striking Israel through the weekend and Israel has responded with Force they've been bombing Gaza non-stop the deaths are said to have crossed 1100 many of them civilians on the internet there are many reports about this War mix of views.
How Hamas could have pulled off this snake attack and
what does it mean for Israel's famous intelligence setup? What is the situation
on the front line? Israel says the Border communities have been retaken around
1,000 Hamas terrorists had launched an incursion on Saturday they held on to
localities in Israel's South, and the next day Israel declared war. They called
in the military and Special Forces and there were gruelling gunfights in the
South but most of the border communities have been liberated. Only a few holdouts
remain. Terrorists have been either killed or driven out, but the battle is not
limited to Southern Israel, it is spread across the region. Israel is carrying
out Air Raids on Gaza and more than a thousand Hamas targets have been hit. Many
civilian buildings were also hit but Hamas is not backing down they're hitting
back. Hamas fired more Rockets throughout the days. Air Raid Sirens sprang
across central Israel. People in Jerusalem were seen heading for cover from the
Hamas blitzkrieg. This is not a localized
incursion anymore. It has been reported deaths of around 1,200 and 3000 injured
as of date.
United Nations says around 123,000 people in Gaza have
fled their homes. So, the human toll is massive within a few days of war
escalations. Israel is not ready for de-escalation. Israel has called up around
300,000 reservists and the Defense Ministry has announced a complete siege on
Gaza with no electricity, food, water, or fuel.
Israel prioritizes freeing the hostages held by Hamas.
100s of them are held in Gaza alone. Israel prepares for land invasion to
occupy Gaza and topple the Kamas. Israeli Prime Minister issued a warning that
Gaza would be turned into an island of ruins.
Who is helping Hamas?
It is reported that Hamas got help from Tehran
although Iran refutes the claim. Iran and Hamas have a long history of cooperation.
Hezbollah is also close to Iran began firing at Israeli positions. Their guns
and rockets are with Hamas. Hezbollah could open a second front in this war. United
States of America's President Joe Biden spoke to Prime Minister Netanyahu on
Sunday and said more military aid is on the way. The US has deployed the
world's largest aircraft carrier to the Eastern Mediterranean and also sent
fighter jets to the region both the F-15 and the F35. Countries are rethinking
their support to Palestine countries like Germany and Austria plan to end the
aid further.
How will the war have an impact on the world?
It doesn't matter where in the world we live, this war will affect everyone. Oil prices in the market today jumped by 5%. Brent crude reached $89 per barrel. Although Israel and Palestine do not produce oil yet there will immensely impact on oil prices. Moreover, if Iran is involved or starts fighting in the Gulf then oil prices would go through the roof so this is a war that will impact everyone. Nationals of other countries started to evacuate from Israel.
Hamas breached all of this they killed Israeli
soldiers breached the fence and soon they were in Israel some even took the air
route using paragliders to land straight into Israel others tried to breach the
country by sea. It was an attack on all fronts: air, land, and sea. Hamas was
pouring into various parts of Israel. It's the biggest attack Israel has seen
in a generation since the 1973 Yom Kippur War.
In recent years, Israel heavily bombarded the Gaza Strip during a brief exchange of fires with Palestinians in 2021. The Palestinian cause has been a rallying cry for a long time most of them have argued one thing i.e. the creation of a Palestinian State. This has been the red line in West Asia- a line that has now disappeared in the sand. The Abraham Accords focus was on economy and peace it was supposed to be the dawn of a new West Asia, but Palestinians were left behind. There were reports of Iran of an Israel-Saudi peace deal, the talk of concessions for regional security. Egypt also shares a border with Israel and Gaza which is expected for Egyptians to intervene and bring s slow down the war.
Will the war end?
It is very early to speculate the war will come to an end looking at the situation currently. Whether it will escalate even more or maybe spill over into other countries, but one thing is for sure, it’s a lesson for West Asia and for the world that ‘peace deals’ do not guarantee peace such as the Abraham Accords. It was just political Deals that rarely brought peace to the Palestinian problems. Another example is the Korean Conflict where both Korea fought a war from 1950 to 1953 and signed a ceasefire but became a sworn enemy. Serbia and Kosovo, Armenia and Azerbaijan, India and Pakistan are all unfinished conflicts. It just ended with deals or agreements that ignored the root problem whether it's land or race or religion. Peace cannot be innovated or imposed it has to be painstakingly built with goodwill cooperation and the hopes of the people in mind.
Pray, Palestine and Israel's conflict comes to an end and the
countries could take a step further to bring solace to the eyes of the world.
